I want to be an Olive Tree

Psalm 52:8
"But I am like an olive tree, thriving in the house of God. I will always trust in God's unfailing love."

Olive trees in the Old Testament times represented a few things. They stood for long life and productivity. They were especially long-lived, and the produced wine and the oil that played such a central role in the lives of the people. So my prayer for today is Lord make me an olive tree, thriving in your house. I also was reading in Romans 11:11-24 and it talks also about the olive tree. It clearly states also in verse 18, "do not boast over those branches. If you do consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you."

I don't know if that speaks to you, but I wanted to share what God was speaking to me about. I want to make sure I am rooted in God because it is not my productivity or my long life that I am supported by but by my God given roots.
