A Time for Renewal

2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.”

From time to time we might find ourselves exhausted and running on empty, especially during Christmastime. The pressing demands of the holiday season may temporarily rob us of the joy and peace that might otherwise be ours through Christ. When the obligations drain our strength and test our patience, there is a source from which we can draw our power. That source is God. If we lift our prayers to Him then he will renew our strength. It says in Isaiah 40:31, But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not be faint. And when we take time to study God’s word, we are confronted with a profound truth: the challenges of today will soon fade away, but Gods love endures forever.

Psalm 51:10
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
